KANAJUYÚ MUNICIPAL PARK
Located in San Gaspar path, zone 16 of Guatemala City, situated in the Ecological Metropolitan Park of Kanajuyú; with an area of 14.77 blocks of mixed forest (pine and holm oak).
Currently, Kanajuyú Park is an area for residential blocks, although 75% of the park’s area remains with forest coverage. The park will offer a space for recreation, family life and environmental education, in addition to maintaining the environmental systems active.
The area will have a sidewalk where recreational activities can be made, such as walking, running, biking, resting, playing child games, camping, bird observation, family activities for recreation and entertainment in a natural environment in general.
The park is important to the Metropolitan Ecological Corridor (CEM by its initials in Spanish), hosting a large number of flora and fauna species. Fundaeco promotes, together with the neighbors of the area, that Kanajuyú becomes another example of urban conservation for the wellbeing of the inhabitants of the area.
